WHAT BUYERS DON’T WANT:

California’s 2013 Buyer Survey Report gave the following top reasons for dissatisfaction with agent:

  1. 82% – slow response
  2. 48% – ineffective communication
  3. 47% – not aggressive in negotiations
  4. 43% – undesirable communication method

BUYER MOTIVATIONS:

The primary reason most of ABR’s (Accredited Buyer Representative)  buyers purchased a home in 2012:

  • 39%     To buy a first home
  • 17%     To buy a larger home
  • 14%     To relocate due to a job
  • 10%     To buy a second home
  •   7%     To scale down to a smaller home
  •   5%     To invest and rent out
  •   1%     To move into a different school district

TOP BUYER CONCERNS IN 2013 (From ABR)                                    

57%     Inventory (can’t find what they want)

51%     Unrealistic expectation

46%     Difficulties in obtaining financing

TOP BUYER CONCERNS IN 2012 (From ABR)

50%     Economic insecurity

50%     Difficulties in obtaining financing

43%     Problems selling their current home
